Bit of a strange situation, but here goes-
I have a client who dealt with a company named Stealth Computer Specialists in Cape Town (apparently based in Table View). Apparently as a result of the tech (Chris) continually breaking promises to deliver/install/setup/support the equipment that she purchased, she came to me for help with her machine (which, after a month, he eventually delivered and setup).
She was also quoted for a new ADSL modem - a D-Link 2640U. What he delivered was a Planet ADSL modem - one which I've never heard of. Granted, most wireless ADSL modems are very similar, although when one buys D-Link, one knows they have the backing of a reputable brand/company and their agents.
This is before one takes into account the principle behind quoting and selling one thing - then delivering another knowing that the client isn't technically-minded enough to realise the difference.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, the technician (Chris) has been aggressive, over-bearing, unreasonable and downright lied numerous times - both to her, and also to me when I called yesterday to ask when he would be delivering the modem that the client bought.
He eventually agreed to replace it, in a week, when he gets back from a business trip.
I just received an email from the client to say that two men came to her premises last night, laughing while one said his name was Mike. When she looked through the security door, one of them looked like the same tech she dealt with.
The client is now unable and unwilling to deal with him, and has asked me to take over the process from here on out.
After that whole long sob-story, my question is this:
Has anyone on the forum ever dealt with Stealth Computer Specialists?
Has anyone ever dealt with a seemingly dodgy tech named Chris from Table View/Cape Town?
Any background info would be greatly appreciated, as I have a funny feeling this wasn't completely out of character for him.
Thanks
