Why not spend a little more than the price of a six-pack (R79) every month and get yourself a 100GB Fat Pipe account with Vox?
As the name suggests, you get 100GB every month and from 12am - 6am it's uncapped.

Check it out here.

;)

Hi

Is this a debit order type deal. I'm looking at the contract that they want me to accept and don't like the idea of a debit order.

Yup, this is a month-to-month debit order.
I don't know (can't remember, actually :D ) if they have alternative ways to pay -best would be to contact them directly to find out ;)
( I'd rather do this, though, than go into a 24 month contract with anyone...but that's just me. )

What's wrong with debit order?

I'd prefer to pay only when I need it, however my Telkom ADSL is now running throttled at 0.4Mbit/s and it's barely usable.
Guess I'll have to go for the Vox deal as well.

Got quite a few downloads done last night on the Telkom package, despite only getting around 2-4 MB/s speed. Had to try the games out as well as they finished downloading and got to bed at 4AM.

I did check with them about cancelling and they said you have to give 30 days notice.

There are a few ISP's that do this. It's not uncommon.
( Still better than having to wait out 12, 10, 5 or even 3 months of a 24 month contract if the service goes to the dogs ;) )

In other news there are some Steam sales running at the moment. Wolfenstein recent versions and Doom were on my wishlist.

This is why I want to spend as little as possible on the internet.

With vox you can use eft as well, but then you have to pre-pay. I do this instead of them having a debit order. You are basically paying a month ahead.

I accepted the quote on Vox and minutes later I'm up and running - pretty painless.
Now I must just try not to waste the 100Gig in the daytime. :)

Thanks for all the advice guys.

My new Nokia 6 arrived yesterday and I've just loaded the 500Gig to the phone.

Steam downloads are queued for tonight. :D

The Vox accounts are completely uncapped from midnight until 6am.

sometimes i get over 19 thousand kilobits uplink and 25 megabits down.
4 Bars Signal

I've only had 1 night to test so far but I was getting 20-30 Mbit/s down using just my phone.
I did 42Gb of download of downloads which works out to 6GB per hour.
