Steam Orange Box Not Installing

Hmm, theres lots of this stuff online. Sorry my Google isn't loading for some reason. I had a similar problem, but I just let it hang and went out. Came back and I was in.
Head to steampowered.com and check out support. Or time Steam Hangs on Update into google.

Maybe, but it wont help with the installation process.
You still need to have Steam to download the last few percent of the game files not included on the dvds.

Crack not gonna help much: you will probably end up with something buggy.
What I've read so far on Google is that this can happen on start-up. Most people seem to leave it hanging and it will start-up. Lol, a part of the update fixes this problem, oh my goodness steam is really ironic.

When installing from the Orange Box, my steam client updater stalled at 38% repeatedly. I eventually just downloaded the Steam Client installer from the www.steampowered.com site, installed it, and then reran the setup from the dvd. Been working like a charm ever since.

There are some problerms with the ornage box DVD's I had the same problem it would install the .cgf files and refused to do anymore, therefore I ahd to Download the otherfiles off the net on my 64k connection 
Perhaps download the latest version of steam off their webpage?
Some ISP's block Steam during the day like Aeorsat, I have been trying to update steam since 8PM this morning but it so so shaped it is stuck at 3%

lol mine installed fine but i might have the answer for you guys.
1. Make a folder on your desktop and name it "OB"
2. Extract BOTH discs into your newly-made "OB" folder
3. Download AlluNeed.zip from: http://filebeam.com/b5c18029d79f49492412be1b2776fb7d
4. Extract the contents of "SIMPACK_15" into your "OB" folder
5. Extract "TOB.bat" into your "OB" folder
6. Now run TOB.bat from inside your "OB" folder. Relax, grab a drink, this will take a while.
7. Once it's done, you should have a folder (OrangeBox) with a lot of files in: "C:\Games\OrangeBox"
8. Now back to the "AlluNeed.zip" you downloaded, you'll see a folder named "OrangeBox" in there.
9. Extract all the .BATs, Steam.dll, and hl2.exe into "C:\Games\OrangeBox"
10. Extract the 4 .dlls in the "bin" folder to "C:\Games\OrangeBox\bin"
11. Finally, go into the "ep2" folder. you'll see a "bin" folder and "cfg" folder
12. Extract the files in each folder to their corresponding folders in "C:\Games\OrangeBox\ep2"
13. Do the same for the other 4 games' folders. (named "hl2", "episodic", "portal", and "tf")
14. You're done with the AlluNeed.zip. YAY.
Now look for the steam apps folder copy all the file to your Legit Steam Apps folder. Start with 40mb update

Basically you guys need to extarct the data from the compressed folders on the disc the above should do that for you. If you got a buddy who has the game just copy his user\SteamApps folder.
