Steam updates

This should work, this is how I always done it.

Well actually I never even installed Steam, I run it off a removable drive (After OS install I just clicked on the steam.exe to run so I thought why bother)

I normally just copy installed game files from my friend to my Removable:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\ folder and off I go, back home I just click on my games after logon and it works.

I have a feeling because you started to install it it want to complete downloading some file maybe?
