Maybe somebody could help me with my questions about a steamer trunk.
I have an old steamer trunk which I bought in 1967 in London when I first came out to Africa. It is made of a wooden frame clad with zinc, I think, sheets.
I want to give this to my daughter who is moving from here, South Africa, to New Zealand to use to take some of her things but I believe NZ has fairly strict policy about wooden items being imported.
Would she have a problem taking it in? Would the wood needed to be treated? If the wood does have to be treated, then the trunk would have to be treated as a whole, then where could I get this done in KwaZulu-Natal?
If anybody could help me with answers or point me in the correct direction to find them, I would appreciate it greatly as I have been searching the net but can't find any relevant information.
