Does anyone have any personal experience with the vertical steaming of clothing on a rack or stand , as opposed to traditional ironing.
Is it faster or easier than normal ironing

Any recommendations, brand /capacity wise?

And yes, we do our own ironing, and hate it, but will never employ helpers. From past experience, they tend to help themselves far more than us.

Get a Philips steam generation iron. Cut my ironing time in half.

Just wear jeans and T shirts. They don't need ironing or steaming. You will save tons of time and be happier.

I have not ironed anything since the army days. Wife has never in her life ironed. We just hang our washing on the lines. A trick for shirts is we always put them on coat hangers and then hang them on the washing line. It saves space and no crinkles. Also, hang them to dry inside out so that the UV doesn't ruin them on the outside

I bought a cheapie steamer off takealot.

Faster than ironing, I would not say better results but it is much easier on the clothes and you can get a great result once you have had a little practice in a much shorter time.

The steamer I bought works but there is room for improvement.

Oh and I got this instead of the phillips so that I can do a family of 4's stuff at once and not have to worry about constant refills of the water or overheating the device.

I don't work from home. In office, every day.
Me too, jeans and t shirt in my office. Gone are the days of impressing people with going to work in suits

My wife has been using one for the last 5/6 years.
She refuse to use a normal iron these days.
It appears ( from watching her) that it is easier to use than an iron.

She prefers one with 2 x "legs" ,claiming it is more sturdy.

Some items still need to be ironed horizontally. Where the steam geneation iron is superior. You can use it vertical or horizontal.

What you want to get is Foldimate. They currently have it 50% discount on special on their website.
