So my Cruze steering wheel and gear knob are looking rather worn. I've done some googlefu found plenty of trimmers that will fix a leather wheel and knob but not a normal polyurethane one.
I did find steerco in Johannesburg town somewhere but they want me to take my steering wheel of and take it to them.
Would anyone perhaps know a place in JHB, Randburg or Roodepoort area that fixes these?

Try Uthuli Auto Trimming near Northgate, 0117951541. They repaired a leather seat for me, and it was indistinguishable from original. I'm sure they could add leather to a steering wheel.

Out of interests sake... Have you called a breakers yard to ask what they would charge to replace with a good 2nd hand one? Opel wanted almost R2500 for a replacement OPC gearknob. Got a price on exactly the same thing from a car breaker (in mint condition) for R500.

I would also recommend a second hand unit.

I find after a steering wheel has been retrimmed that it may look new, but it will feel crap.

I've contacted a few and they don't seem to have any :( even places apparently scraping Cruzes don't have.

whatever you do don't ever attempt to remove a steering wheel in a modern car unless you are experienced

Thanks Skeptic, already tried chevusedspares, they didn't answer their phone or email. Lopec didn't have stock. The others I've not tried :-)
