Stellenbosch TV Signal

Does anybody know where the TV signal for Stellenbosch coming from? As in, in what direction should by grid be facing... and any tips on the placement of it?

Why I ask is that at the moment it seems like Stellenbosch is stuck in the back out area of Tygerberg - and I was wondering if there was something a little closer?

Thanks for this Quantum - Is it possible that being a hilly place I could live in a shadow area? Do such things exist in TV distribution signal?

If you cannot actually view the transmitter, try elevating your aerial as much as possible. You can get 5m x 50mm aluminium poles and suitable wall brackets. What do your other immediate neighbours do?

The transmitter is on the hill behind ARC-Infruitec/Nietvoorbij (The hill between Cloetesville and Idasvallei). But be warned the terrestrial tv signal in Stellenbosch is notoriously bad. For instance, in Welgevonden, 2km away from the transmitter there is virtually no signal. Rather get a cheap satellite connection like Dstv lite or Toptv or wait for digital tv, if it ever comes...

See this is difficult as the flat is on the ground floor so the thing faces directly into the outside wall, and of course the body corporate has an issue putting up a new one on the roof. Ideally, i'd like to get dish installed but they won't put some in until they have enough buy in from the tenants/owners... apparently they don't.

Moving end of the year, partially due to the dish issue.

Why on earth is it there? No wonder I can't watch bugger all at the moment.... hidden behind a cheeky hill.
