Durban-born business visionary Stephen Blewett, 40 began his management career as Shell’s Brand Manager in Cape Town and then Regional Sales Manager in Johannesburg shortly after completing his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Natal in Durban. After staying with Shell for 5 years, Stephen went on to become Vodacom’s Retail Portfolio Manager in 1999 and subsequently became Executive Head of Mcel Mozambique in 2001. Stephen was then appointed Managing Director of Altech Autopage Cellular, South Africa’s largest independent cellular service provider in 2003 at the tender age of 34. The Company subsequently achieved a multi-billion rand turnover under his direct leadership. Stephen was also MD of Altech Supercall Cellular and was awarded Altech’s Chief Executive’s Award in 2005. This award was presented to Stephen by Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Since December 2009 Stephen has taken up a new challenge. He is currently Executive: Sales and Marketing for Telkom Mobile. This new mobile network has allowed Stephen to re-ignite his passion for challenging the status quo!
