Steven Ngobeni is the Chief Executive Officer at National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).
Hailing from Delmas in Mpumalanga, Steven Ngubeni became the first and the current serving Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Development Agency. He has been in this position for a period of three years, since 2009.
Steven Ngubeni started his professional career as a Town Planner at Terraplan Associates, a company that granted him the financial support towards his undergrad studies. After completing his National Diploma, he was unemployed for a period of two years, where he was compelled to learn ropes of survival entrepreneurship by selling his technical services in the human settlement industry. He later joined In-Site Design as a Senior Planner and worked with the acquisition of sites for outdoor advertising. He has worked as the Director for Technical Services at Emakhazeni Municipality for four years. Whilst at this municipality, he would from time to time take up the role of the Acting municipal Manager. He has also worked as the Municipal Manager at Victor Khanye Municipality. Both these municipalities are in the Nkangala District, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. Ngubeni has just over 10 years experience in executive leadership and over 20 years experience in youth development.
