Still waiting on Telkom ...

How long did you wait for your ADSL to be installed, and what's the longest you've been on hold when trying to call hellkom? I ordered my ADSL on the 2nd March :confused: still havent got it ...

I tried to give hellkom a call and follow up, but my phone ran out of battery life when I didn't get a response after 23 mins and all I hear is "Please hold for our next available operator" .... If you don't believe me, see this file ... http://heunis.com/video-0006.mp4 (384 KB )
 
Well depending on where you are it normally takes them 3 to 4 weeks to get adsl up. Then if there are suposedly no port available you need to bother them until they make a port available.

Staying on the phone waiting for your important call to reach them takes anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes. So service from them isn't just bad, it's non existing.
 
Just read my signature. Pestering them for ports doesn't help. They're still 'waiting for quotes for equipment prices'
 
Wow that must suck hugely. Hopefully when I order they will hurry their asses up. Isn't there a self install option that you could opt for that would speed up the process?

and does anyone in their right mind, still think that the 2010 World Cup Soccer is going to be held here?

This country cannot get the telecommunications up to standard and they want to be the hosts of an event as big as the World Cup Soccer? LMAO at S.A.

I would love to know how many complains telkom receives on a daily basis ... question is, do I really want to waist time to complain ? Is that going to improve the service I receive from telkom ? properly not, I'm willing to bet money on that...

It is soooo frustrating it is almost unbelievable. The world must really be laughing at us.

I (as mentioned in another thread) have been waiting for Telkom for 4 weeks to come and fix my line. Do not want to dissappoint you, but I was told (after holding for more than 1/2 hour on Friday last week) that they are still 5 weeks (and groing) behind their technical schedule, due to the strikes... :eek:
