Stofile unhappy with Springbok squad

I see Mark Keohane has found a new home.

As for his attack on Cricket, ALL the Black players that were selected to go to the World Cup were near the top of their disciplines in local competitions. And why I wonder is he nit-picking on the "ethnic black" composition? The classification of "black" includes African, Indian and Coloured.

Maybe he is just jealous that cricket can pick a team that is far more representative than Rugby can. :D

It just sounds like he is not happy rugby is being "caned" and he is reacting like a child and saying: "But, Mommy look at what Johnny is doing"

Pathetic.

Let the trolls come out :D

I just can believe this piece was writen by

By Mark Keohane

Wow.... Something is really getting even the most hated writers taken this AA in rugby thing a little more serious now.

This is such a racist view. Whites may not be good in some sports because blacks aren't.

Imagine if the US had the same obsession with race. White athletes running the 100 in 11 seconds, 5 foot 9" basketball players struggling to find the net. It could be fun to watch.

Sox I think you miss the whole point of the article.

This past weekend only seven ethnic black Africans started in eight premier division Currie Cup sides. Only five of these players are eligible to play for the Boks. When it comes to black African selection White is effectively picking from a pool of less than 10 and not 40 million who make up South Africa's population.

The government should be condemning South African rugby's failure to transform and should be demanding change at a domestic level. Instead all the criticism is irrationally levelled at the national squad. Cricket, no better than rugby when it comes to transformation, never feels the wrath of the Sports Minister or his colleagues. Why?

Stofile, his brother and all the other SARU execs should be hauled in to explain why Jake White has limited options when it comes to transforming the national side.

Stofile's criticism, as always (yawn) is completely misplaced and bordering on pathetic really considering his position and the fact that the blame ultimately lies with him.

Perhaps Mr Stofile should ask Mr Hoskins why there are hardly any black players worth anything playing at provincial levels, where have they gone??
I promise you we have them if you look at the composition of the younger national sides so why do they not get through.
The answer for this question does not lie with the national coach.

Stofile and his merry men 'in charge' at SARU (non whites I must add) should be held accountable for not seeing to it that these players (wth potential) are kept in the system.

I think Stofile doesnt have a clue about any sport to be honest, he just goes to the office banging a non white drum, thats it. What value has he added to SA sport, would love to know?
As with most things these useless politicians just shift the blame and refuse any accountability themselves.

So sox, which team do you support?

I support any team/person that represents SA in their sport.

IMO, transformation is lacking at a provincial level and not National Team level. So if you sort out provincial level first, then it is a given that the guys will rise to international level. Some might say that it weakens local competitions but I think that is rubbish.

BTW does anyone have an explanation why Willem De Waal can't seem to make the Springbok side? He has consistantly been a great performer for FS but gets snubbed for the Green and Gold?

Willem de Waal is good but currently out classed by the other player in his possition. I also think he needs to get a chance but currently he's being out played on all lvl's. I just hope time will be on his side. If so he'll get his change !

Well the stone is cast. Lets hope for the best and rejoice, win or loose.

They are in the junior sides because of forced quotas. They aren't as good as some white players who aren't allowed to play because of racism.
When it comes to senior level the real good ones go through and the quota players don't like the end of the free ride so they rather quit than work hard to show their worth. Hence they remove themselves from the system.

That happens but the national sides have been competitive against the best that the rest of the world can offer. So I tend to disagree that this is not the norm at junior levels, provincial, sure. At these levels its easier to provide cover for a 60Kg full back than cover your arse from Stofile.

Rugby is representative of the people that support it. Willem de Waal lacks BMT.
