Stolen and recovered

Hi guys, I'm getting offered a car that's stolen and recovered. The normal new price is around 700k. The car is a 2013 model with 15000km. I can get it for R340k. I want to buy to use and not sell but what happens when I need to sell? Any ideas? Also does it get coded differently? Or still as second hand? I do know that motorplan is still active.
 
The car will be a code 2, I think? Will always be more difficult to sell, and not sure if the banks will finance it. But I might be completely wrong.

I know on d current car I got its a code 2 n was a demo when I got it

you might battle getting it insured.
possibly warranty void

walk away unless they ask 10k, then you might get more for the scrap.
 
Wait, surely a recovered car becomes the insurance companies property, therefore they are just selling an asset? :confused:

So then it shouldn't be any different to selling any other car? Apart from damage that could have been done?

So I'd have a multipoint check done
 
I bought a Recovered Car a number of years ago, which when it went through COR
it was classed, rebuilt Car and had a more rigorous COR test. During the test when they weighed (Tare)
of the Vehicle they felt it was to heavy for the Vehicle class? I had to reason the fuel Tank was full, only after taking
out the spare tyre and doing a weight retest did they pass it.

You will need a police clearance certificate

Just check that point out at your nearest testing grounds

It will always reflect on HPI as a S&R vehicle, so unless you want to keep it and leave it to someone in your Will, just leave it and move on.

300 odd k will get you several nice new vehicles without prison records hanging around their necks...

I wouldn't touch it, and apart from that the A6 doesn't hold its value as a Used car anyway...

And this is our local car sales man saying so....
 
My car was stolen and recovered on two separate occasions. I didn't have any problem trading it in at a dealership. If that's of any help.
