Stolen bandwidth

I dedicate this topic to anyone who has had their bandwidth stolen and want to gain or share info with others and the ISPs.

My first question: Is it not possible for the ISP to check through SAIX or maybe their own logs, exactly what line the thief used the account on. Then surely it would be a simple matter of catching the bad guys. Surely using a stolen ADSL account should leave a big fat trail straight to your house....?
