Why oh why??? The copper is worthless in these telephone lines!!!

I have had a relatively good experience with Telkom as an ISP of late, then only too see my telkom lines are stolen.
Who knows how long this will take to fix...

If it was worthless then they wouldnt be stealing it.
Im not sure if you are thinking of the thinner strands linking to your premises but the cable that would have been stolen is a main trunk with contains quite a lot of copper. The thieves then burn off all the plastic coating and sell the copper to scrap merchants that arent supposed to but it but do anyway.

I almost caught cable thieves 2 weeks ago. I was too late as they had already cut the cable, atleast I interrupted them and they didnt get their loot. Still been without proper internet all this time.

Its major syndicates running this and in my opinion liasing with all relevant parties the only parties not involved as the consumers using the lines. Sad state this is.
