My colon I believe, is genetically disastrous, and seems to actively work against weight loss,

Eat junk food. my stomach is happy and works like clockwork,
Eat healthy, all trains stop -

Tried more fibre, tried less fibre. Tried lotsa water.

I don't starve myself when eating healthily. Just eat cleaner.

(Cut pasta/carbs, reduce portion size slightly and up protein intake. Add a few more veg portions into my day.

Any advice?

Get off that couch and stop stuffing your face with Mcdonalds and KFC, exercise and eat 3 small meals a day. You will eventually lose weight, but your body is used to an american diet so it will take time.

Drink lots of water and eat regularly.
Stop eating crap.

Is it fiber or spastic colon issues?

I suffered for a long time but feel much better now :) The following seemed to help:
(Not sure which of it is actually related to my good tummy health but this is what I've been doing)

Been walking quite a bit as if the devil is behind me.
Changed from instant to filter / freshly ground coffee.
Have coconut oil in my coffee in the morning.
Stay away from fruit and raw veggies.
Try not to have grains / sugar / dairy / processed foods.
Eating slowly and chewing properly helps when I can manage to do so.
Stress is very bad for the tummy!! But don't know how to take that away :)
I try to drink at least 3l of water a day.

Get some Probiotics when changing your diet; helps to get the processes flowing correctly again ... (Or just eat some yogurt)

Just give it time? Like two weeks?

For example when going camping in Kruger it seem my body suddenly seems to hold everything in for the first week, I don't feel or look bloated or anything.

Lol I exercise a lot, this is not a question regarding how to lose weight, rather my bodies reaction to a change in eating patterns. This is not a signular occurence but rather a trend I have noticed over years.

Losing weight is easy (ish)

Getting my colon happy not so much

Dat sht don't work if you've got serious problems. Well it helps for a while but isn't a long term solution. Just my experience.

I find the exact opposite.

It's not a short term solution and instead a very longterm one.

Studies indicate it only really starts working after 3 -6 months.

I resolved many undiagnosed digestion issues that started suddenly and would not improve for many months. (even went for a gastroscopy)

The mindset that works for me is to rather eat less, but high-nutrition easily digestible food. Then what felt counter-intuitive is to let my stomach acid digest the food quickly by avoiding lots of liquid, and avoid milk. Don't drink liquids close to your meal. Initially I also had to stop eating 2h before going to bed.

I ate lots of egg, meat (beef), soup, some bread but white instead of brown or seeded, soft cooked vegetables. Also some yoghurt and apples. I avoided nuts, seeds, chocolate, milk, digestive enzymes, fruit, raw veg and skipped the early morning coffee (had it later). Probiotics did nothing.

LOL. Ya was just pulling your leg there. I would recommend time, since it is a big change in your diet. You can help your colon by getting an enema every few days, and staying off stimulants.

It's called a lifestyle disease.

I did the Hitler diet (13 day) and started new...but slowly got tempted again by fast foods. It just requires some discipline that you will ave to get used to.

Mock the oldies and their prunes if you will, but it might be an idea to give them a try? I used to stew up a whole packet with a teabag for flavouring and then swallow down three each morning, plus as many glasses of water as you can manage during the day. (2 litres was my goal) I swear this sorted me out after a life-time of problems, and the cost is minimal. Good luck.
