why dont you make your consumer voice heard and tell telkom you arent happy it doesnt help you moan about it here - send telkom and email a day until they wake up
 
I tend to agree with this ... sorry ya'll, but cyber d makes a good point here ... it is up to us to make a difference.

we should all stand up for our consumer right - if we pay they much deliver or another company must be appointed to take over and do the job ... if we stand together they will have to listen :D

er, welcome to MyADSL. Nice to have you on board.
We did make our consumer voice heard...we held the front page of the national press for nearly a week.
We had just about every political party in the country support the ruling on the matters that WE brought before ICASA - and the party isnt over on that score.
Biz Community and various other consumer and industry bodies backed us too.
What we need to do now, is up the ante and prepare for round 2
Its the nature of things here to have a liitle grumble time and then, stick around, you'll see, suddenly a groundswell of support behind a campaign or action to be taken.
If we cant bitch here, then to who?
there is also a wealth of work and action that goes on off line.
some of us like to bleat, others like to work, collectively we are formidable.
as I said, nice to have you on board.

i dont really read newspapers make me think negatively so i wasnt aware of the front page story .. great start

maybe we should toi-toi outside telkom offices all over sa,
think that might work? we can demand "decrease" it will be the first time in sa history strike action has been taken to "decrease" something .... lol.

maybe we could just bombard telkom's head office call centre with 200 000 complaints an hour ...

any other suggestions

I guess the true test is whether we get results, not trying to be negative here, but from I see, it appears that internet is only getting more expensive, and Telkom are about to introduce a hard cap. We need to make Carte Blanche - not only run a story on this, but keep a progress report, and report on a weekly or a monthly basis, and make the consumer aware that things are getting worse, and not better.

unless you've been lurking here for a while, don't arrive here assuming that nothing but moaning happens.

If you haven't been lurking, which I suspect, your lucky that this forum has some damn fine people as members, because otherwise, they may have come down on your original statement like a ton of bricks.

Hang around a bit, check out what HAS been done - I'd say that the folks who started this forum (and other endeavours) are partially, if not directly responsible for the progress made in lower telecomms costs.

It's an inspiring and amazing place to hang out - I'm just happy to be a tiny part of it, hope you will be too !

none taken - since the flurry of activity in July, things have been more moany that do-ey but we are brewing a cunning plan....
we also have our resident debaters who can either bore you to tears or cause you to want to stab both eyeballs out with the closest paperclip.
BUT stuff happens here daily.
There are those of us who trawl through every post looking for that spark of inspiration for the next attack.
Remember too that we are all just people, all working at jobs and our lives and what not so things dont always happen as fast as we would like them to.
But seriously, get in touch with our resident Wizard. He's FEISTY like you, and he needs people like you who are do-ers.
