I keep getting requests from people asking me to resend an image as an attachment because it seems no matter what I try (send as windows friendly attachment, display image as icon, send as rich text, send as plain text, etc) when I look at the raw source the email keeps on using "Content-Disposition: inline" instead of "Content-Disposition: ATTACHMENT".

Anything step I might have missed?

This is annoying. Consultants often send me stuff that's inline. Is there a way to get the Mac to stop sending all the crap and html files back with a reply too. I have to plough through numerous attachments that are really just spacer gifs and corporate logos, just to find what I'm looking for is at the bottom of the email as an inline image. grr.

Your problem isnt Mac specific which is why I have Mail set to display the plain text version of incoming email.

Open Terminal and type:

defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes

Thanks but as I suspected that's the same as displaying the image as icon or as Deeper calls it "enable display attachments in messages" :o
