So I have a load balancing router that will automatically switch WAN if it detects that 1 WAN is down - however the Huawei routers all redirect the traffic to themselves and load the 192.168.8.1 page instead of the requested website when their connection is down. Is there a way to stop them from doing this?

By the sounds of it I think your load balancing router is using the Hauwei as a DNS. If you make 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 the DNS servers for your load balancing router then you should not have this issue any more.

I have the same problem with the B618.
It seems the router redirects port 80 (HTTP), port 443 (HTTPS) as well as port 53 (DNS).
I have not figured out a way to stop it.

I have Googled and Googled, to no avail.

I cannot recall if the B618 allows you to define the DNS servers for the DHCP. Are you connecting to only the B618 or do you have a Mikrotik or another router between you and the B618?
