...go get some blank DVDs, and go and back up all your photos. Now. Stop procrastinating.

I was recently "relieved" of all my original photos, and have been kicking myself for not having backed them up onto disc since 2005 or 2006.

The only time you think about backing up things, is when you need the backups.

So go and back up your photos now! You will thank yourself later :)

Happened to me too. You'd think I'd have learnt my lesson...

/me shines up his spiffy RAID'd server thats pretty much hidden in the ceiling for just this purpose :)

I lost everything about 8 months back. Photo's since around 2004 were all gone. I had no backups, no recovery method. I've learnt the hard way. :(

Is there some online service that one can use?

Plenty of overseas ones (s3 springs to mind) but then bandwidth might become an issue... esp if you have a 120+GB library on your computer.

My Media Center PC and Desktop PC are set to auto-sync every few hours.
And every few weeks I also sync it to an excternal HDD.

My Media Center PC crashed a few months ago and fortunately I lost nothing.
