Does this still work before your casts?
Someone was telling me Blizzard 'fixed' this and theres no need to place it before your casts
Is it true:confused:

You don't need to but it does still work.

I use it for abilities that I know I'll be using to interrupt my current casts.

/stopcasting still does what it originally did - halts whatever you're casting, immediately. It no longer has much of a purpose in compensating for lag as the game client now queues your next spell if you cast it just before the current one ends.

It still has it's uses for when you absolutely, positively need to stop a current cast to cast something else. I use it, for eg, with my Earthshock when i need to interrupt and enemy.

*edit* Shogun beat me to it.

i mainly use /stopcasting in my totem killing macros for bosses:
eg:
/tar spitfire
/stopcasting
/cast shadow bolt

It hurts stopping a SB mid-cast (like stopping your flow :P) but there are times when it must be done.

Stopping a MF is worse coz i already used the Mana QQ.
O yeah and totems are immune to MF :P

Well, it would be kinda lol to 'Mind' Flay something without a mind.

Quick question which is relevant.

On my Lock I have instant cast for my 2 main DOT's shoot me but I don;t know their names. My question is, I start by sending in the VOID, SB and then cast the 2 DOT's.

Can one make one macro to cast both DOT's with one button ?

This macro will cast Amplify Curse if you hold down alt.

#showtooltip
/cast [modifier:alt] Amplify Curse
/stopcasting [modifier:alt]
/castsequence reset=Target/Combat Corruption, Curse of Agony, Siphon Life, Unstable Affliction

Edit: I would dot be4 bolting

Ok lets say DOT then SB.

I still want a macro for the 2 DOT's on one button :) That would be imba.
I'll try and write some macro for it tonight.

don't be lazy :P
I found half the fun of playing an aff lock was seeing how fast I could put all my dots up.
I've had people asking me if I use a macro cause i get them up so fast before :D

One trick i learned was to space the instant casts and timed cast apart to play the gc.
If memory serves my cast sequence for boss fights was:
curse - UA - corruption - Immo - sl - SB spam - refresh dots as needed

I don't use the curses yet, just the 2 DOT's that kill off slowly, Fear and Drain HP :D. Lock is so easy mode it's not even funny :D

wait till you start drain tanking, I forgot I had fear at one point. I was so used to having 4+ mobs beating on me all the time and never using it in dungeons I really forgot about it.

After getting my face owned in a bg a couple of times I was like. "oh wait I can fear, lol" and my bgs went a lot better after that. :P

Surely you're popping Curse of Agony on the mobs?

I think that is what the one dot is called.... Like I said i have no idea hwta they are called, I'll check tonight.

What I meant by curses is the Curse of tongues and so forth. The ones that doesn't do damage. I just damage :)

Hey I'm a noob lock ok :p

you get those naab locks, who only know how to shadow bolt ..... they should roll a mage if thats the case :P

Us Nab bolters out dps mages thou :p
