Any scientists out there that know biologically why our pee smells so much and what can be done to combat it? Any cool products people have developed to stop the stench? We have turned off the water refill tap to our toilets' cisterns. "If it's yellow...." and all that.

Flush it once a day with the water you save from the shower.

Jeyes Blue blocks do the job but have their own smell.

You can put that gel stick stuff in the bowl as camouflage too.

So you would leave a nice scent whenever you have a bowel movement? Nice idea.

Sodium Hypochlorate power (bleach) from Heyns Mathew. Very cheap and a table-spoon is all you need

Am sure there's a Bear Grylls meme in this somewhere...

I just flush once every two days with municipal water. Even water from the shower starts to smell after a while.

I bought albex No Flush today. Claims to be a bacterial spray that feeds on ammonia. R49.

Sprayed it once and smell was gone. Will check to see how long it lasts
