I came across Google play music and it seems like a great app to have to upload all your music online and play them from any device offline. So saves up space on the phone also.

However I'm unable to do this because it asks for Credit Or debit card verification before using it. I tried two cards and it didn't work.

No idea why, does anyone use this or some other free online space to store and play music offline.

Cos Google Play Music is a subscription service. I use it - it's awesome. Haven't uploaded music to it but a colleague has loads of his personal music on there that he uploaded. Audio books too I think.

Any way to access it without credit card? Not sure why both cards I tried didn't work. I'm just looking to store my music.

If you're on Telkom Mobile and Android you can pay for it via your pre-paid/contract balance.

Tried another card and that didn't work. I've used them before for online purchases though.

Dropbox - you can play directly from Dropbox and you can selectively have offline copies of certain files (at least on iOS).

Didn't know you could play directly from Dropbox. Thanks this might have to do for now until I find some way to use Google play music especially if I can play music offline.

Surely Google Music Online, cannot be listened offline?

A colleague told my boss today, that it is offline.

:erm:

I use it free, and sync favourites for offline listening.
The Windows app monitors my collection and auto syncs new music.

Upload music to Google Drive and use Doubletwist Cloudplayer on Play Store to stream it. Cost for me was once-off R10.00 in-app purchase. Free 30 day trial.

Edit: Dropbox and Microsoft storage supported too.

Thanks man, will give this a look

Just buy a Google Play voucher at any brick and mortar store like pnp, checkers etc. Or get an entropay account.

Why though? You'll have to pay for storage when Google play music is free for up to 50 000 songs. Also Play music will allow you to correctly tag your songs and unknown songs via gracenote integration suggesting you tags.
