Telkom has informed us that there has been a significant failure on their infrastructure (2.5gig line) in the Rosebank area. We are currently working with the JSE and Telkom to route around this area. Both our primary and back up lines have been affected. We will keep you posted.

Unfortunatly i think in telkoms case and the state of their current infrastructure, (Old, Degraded, Corroded, Lose, Missing, Non-Existant copper cabling) the more people who are going to be using ADSL the more problems are going to arise... they need to share the load asap with some competition but until then we are stuck with a network that works when it feels like it.

Locally a company called LA Cables (offical subcontractors of Telskum, notice by their worksite) is installing cables in Eastgate area of Joburg, so telskum themselves dont lay the cables.
