Strange 3G behaviour

My settings are on auto 3G & 2G. Whenever my phone changes from EDGE to 3G, my browser stops working. I can't load pages. It just hangs on "requesting". If my phone goes back to EDGE or GPRS, internet works again. Anyone else experiance this. I have a Bold 9000 with original OS 4.6. Everything worked fine a while ago but now 3G is busted? Any ideas?

Update firmware. I'm using 5.0.0.681 which is the best bold 9000 firmware available.

Lord anubis, is it area dependant? I have the same issue, but in reverse, and only in the area I live in, when the tower switches from 3G to EDGE I lose data signal and the phone displays GSM. I've been on every available software including hybrids, still does it. My conclusion, its the towers that must be playing up.

That seems less likely. More likely there could be a problem with your phone.

Happens in Sandton, Bryanston and Rosebank (areas where I work and live). I've got a meeting in Midrand tomorrow. Will test there.

Works fine in Midrand! Must be congestion in Sandton!
