strange bootup problem

Hi guys

my win7 32bit installation on my home pc is acting real strange. my monitor has a built in hub with card reader and usb ports. if i switch monitor off totally, the pc will boot fine. if i try to startup with the monitor in standby mode, the pc locks up at bios boot logo. have the latest bios and all latest drivers but i had all that before the problem started anyway so i am stumped.

once the pc has started up for a few seconds i can power on the monitor and everything is fine. windows detects the hub and all devices attached to the hub are working as normal. i have tried disconnecting all devices from the hub in case it was one of the attached devices (logitech webcam pro 9000 + wireless dongle for xbox controller) but no difference.

yeah but why now? and shouldn't it do the same once i power it on after windows has loaded? and all devices attached to it still work as normal? it probably is the hub but i'm trying to find a reason when there maybe is none.

Maybe try plugging the monitor's USB cable into a different USB port on the PC?

If you boot up without the monitors usb cable connected, any problems? (I presume your monitor has two cables running from it, a usb cable and an hdmi/dvi)

Secondly, is your monitor powered from your computers PSU, or does it have it's own plug cable?

Sounds like your PC is attempting to boot from the Card Reader and or Hub. Just make sure your Hard Drive is first boot device and remove all other boot devices from your BIOS Settings, even boot "other" remove it
