Strange disconnects: Bluetooth and 3G

When I connect my 6680 with 3G and Bluetooth and download 2 files simultaneously the connection just dies. The download is still showing to be active, but nothing comes thru. Not even a ping request works.

When I then reconnect on an EDGE tower (and using Bluetooth) and start downloading the same files from the same sites, it works! I get full speed and no disconnects, I left the download for a minute or 2 with no problems.

The thing is, if I download 1 file at a time, it does not freeze. As soon as I start the 2nd file while the 1st one is still busy, the connection freezes.
Furthermore, I can still send data, for example, ping requests still get sent, but NOTHING comes down anymore. When I click on the disconnect button, it takes a number of seconds before my pc actually shows it has disconnected.

Also, when I repeat the test using my cable connection instead of Bluetooth, I can download 4 files simultaneously with no problem, 3G or EDGE, does not matter.

I've got the version 4.04.07 firmware for my 6680
Probably something to do with Bluetooth, but what?

Wow, need to think about this one. Off the top....

3G is closer in frequency to bluetooth than GSM.

I assume one file works?

Two files will create more bi-directional traffic over the bluetooth than just one file, which will be more half duplex. Thus 2 files will work the bluetooth adaptor more.

Could there be a connection?

Do you have another bluetooth adaptor you can try? Are you using the WinXP SP2 bluetooth drivers?
 
I recently installed the new version of PC Suite and today I got the new firmware for the 6680. Had to reinstall/reset a few things, maybe somewhere something is not set up properly or not working together well anymore.

I will have to play around more, but running these file download tests on 3G or EDGE costs money (cough prepaid data bundles cough!)
 
Finally got it working again. My Bluetooth dongle (made by Cellink) couldn't install properly due to XP SP 2 overwriting some file. So it looks like it was using Microsoft's drivers. I got the workaround setup instructions from Cellink's website and got the thing installed properly. Then, after quite some fiddling around, I got my phone to run over Bluetooth as a modem.

I still can not get the "Nokia 6680 Bluetooth" modem to work. When I go to properties and diagnostics to query the modem in control panel, I still get an error message. The "Nokia 6680 Bluetooth" modem came with the cd with my phone. Even tried downloading drivers from Nokia's site. No luck.

But the generic modem seems to work now. No disconnects during multiple downloads on 3G and Bluetooth.
 
With bluetooth and windoze XP SP2 windoze will try useits own generic drivers, which gives the same problems as a earthquake that measures 6 on the richter scale. So the device drivers must be loaded or updated on windoze and in the bluetooth progarm go to advanced configuration and remove the secure connection on the programs that you using...
 
But the generic modem seems to work now. No disconnects during multiple downloads on 3G and Bluetooth.

Just wondering. Doesn't the generic modem have a limit of 115kbits/s? Also why aren't you using the USB cable? It's [supposed to be] more stable.

After another hour of fiddling around I still can't get the "Nokia 6680 Bluetooth" modem to work. I removed all the secure connections I can find, but no luck. I can install the modem but when I query it I don't get a response.

The cable works yes, but I don't want to connect and disconnect a cable all the time. Some of the guys at work are also having problems getting 3G to work over Bluetooth, so I would really like to figure out why. I am able to set the port speed to 460 kbps on the generic modem, so no problems there.
 
I can do 3 downloads simultaneously (well thats the most i tried), never freezes, even downloaded two torrents at the same time.

Im using a V800I, with bluetooth connector.
 
I suspect the phone is to blame. The guys at work tried 2 different Bluetooth dongles (one was a Motorola recommended by a dude from Vodacom) and still had problems.
 
Oh and thats on 3G with downloads totalling about 38Kb/s
