Hi,

I have two standard decoders connected to a dual LNB and connected with Xtraview. It was working fine for a few years then suddenly we started to get bad signal and after a few days we got nothing. 0% signal strength and 0% signal quality.

I already replaced the LNB, replaced wires from the LNB to the decoders, called DSTV (resetting, settings, etc.) and they said it should work, we got a technician to test the LNB and allign the dish, he couldn't understand the problem and said everything should be working fine, took the decoders to a DSTV agency and they worked.

So I'm asking for help. Does anyone have any suggestions? Everything was tested and it should work but it just doesn't.

Thanks for any help.

Strange one indeed. Is the technician a multichoice certified installer? To me it sounds like dish or lnb alignment.

Did it start losing signal etc after for example heavy wind?

If the dish or lnb is even slightly out you won't get signal.

Suggest you try move the dish around by yourself and get someone to monitor the signal on the status.

We got a another technician out and he fixed it. Still strange, he rewired a few times aligned again and changed a few settings on the decoders and we started getting signal. Then he moved the dish and now we're getting excellent signal.

I suspect the dish moved somehow and the first technician was clueless

Maybe he did not tighten the nuts on the bracket. If its windy it can move, especially when it is a galvanised pole
