Next to my sounds icon I suddenly have some strange icon that I've never seen before. Its a circle with an arrow in it and there's also a red *(like when u get a new email or sms) in the circle. And outside the circle, to the left there's a 1. What the hell is that?
 
Screenshot? And what does it say when your pointer hovers over it? And if you click it?
 
what system are you? And.. why don't you just click that icon and see?
 
My bad, its not actually an icon, its like when u get a msg that little envelope shows, its like that. So I cnt click in it.

Probably app update in Blackberry AppWorld.
 
Claymore is spot on. Update for vlingo available. I thought it was an update in app centre but didn't think of app world. Thnx guys!
 
App world wasn't minimized, it was closed. Does it usually display the update icon even if its closed?
 
Yes it does display the icon due to the push to device service - I was also paranoid with that icon - I assumed probably it was podtrapper but new BB APP world updates for apps I have installed
 
But I also have another icon on the home page that I can't figure out. It's a world icon with a number 1 to the left of it. Kinda like the browser, but I can't figure out if it's google's or the curve's. Any ideas?
 
Its ok I figured it out... Was a wap push message!

And I couldn't just click on it, I'm using bb8520 curve!

Ok so last week oneday I noticed this icon again but with a 2 this time. Figuring there's 2 updates in app world I go to app world to download them. One was for BuddyGuard which I downlaoded and the other was for some app which I wasn't using so I deleted the app. I was asked to reboot, which I did. But once the phn was back on the icon was still there with the 2.I went back to app world to have a look and BuddyGuard still has the * next to it although I did downlaod the updated version, and there's no other app with a * next to it. I even downlaoded BuddyGuard again lastnight but that damn icon is still there and starting to really irritate me.
 
Hide app world? I tried that, the app world icon gets hidden but the icon on my homescreen still there
