Strange pressure point blackhead

Hi all.

So this is a weird one. I have had a strange kind of blackhead that develops on my back, between my spine and my shoulder blade. It develops right on top of a pressure point that most people can reach. If you take your arm and put it over your opposite shoulder; root around a little between the spine and the shoulder blade and you should find the one that I am talking about.

I seem to get a blackhead-like growth (Although if you look at my back you would not see anything so growth is possibly too strong a word here) right on top of this pressure point. It feels very much like a knot in the muscle and I am convinced that the muscle underneath is actually knotted.

It seems to accumulate over time and yet during higher stress periods it will build up much faster.

I am looking to find out if anyone else gets something similar, knows of this; even knows what they are called and what causes them? Purely out of interest as my attempt at Google searching has not produced anything related.

Does it look like a blackhead? Can you squeeze it? Seems not from the rest, written....

Could be muscle tention. Look at how you sit when you read, watch TV etc. A few strech excercises could help reduce it. You need to make enough time for sleep and relaxation.

Yes and Yes, Sorry I should have clarified that. My wife squeezes it once a month or so. How could muscle tension result in this though? As I said, I am sure it is linked to tension and stress, but I cannot find any info on the net about what it might be called. I am just interested in reading about it to see whether my suspicions around it being stress and tension related are true.

Its a blocked sebaceous gland.
I have had one and its a quick procedure to have it removed.

They normally seem to lurk around in that hard to reach spot you are referring to. It will always just fill up again until you have it removed.

Doc or Dermatologist to get it removed?
Thanks for the info. It is a strange thing, wonder why it likes to build up there particularly right on a known pressure point.

They are fairly random as to where they are but mine was exactly where you described and my brother had one in nearby area too.
I had mine removed at a dermatologist but my brother had his removed at a doctor. Its normally just local anaesthetic and a small incision to get it out.

May be off topic but
Would steam room help for these?
Does steam room/sauna actually help for black heads/pimples etc?

I doubt it, I had one before I started gymming seriously and I was in the steam room 7 days a week for about 15-20 mins. It didnt change at all during that time.
Some people are just more susceptible to them than others. I do have quite oily skin so that might have been a trigger for getting it started.

Ya it definitely does not seem to be linked to sweating it out, or washing that area of the back more thoroughly. It seems to be linked to diet and stress for me.

I have never had it pop like that one in the vid though. Although sometimes what comes out is like a hard rice shaped and sized bit of goo. Otherwise it has been simply a long soft worm, as my wife likes to call it.

At least now I know what it is and how it can be treated if it ever causes me problems. Thanks Rocket-Boy

Hahaha that reminds me of what happened when my brother had his one removed. There was a young intern that had just started at the doctor and was watching the procedure. Its normally a gland that gets squeezed through a small incision but the doctor sliced it a bit deep and when he squeezed it the whole thing exploded and went all over the intern. She screamed and ran out the door. Its disgusting I know but I found it quite funny.
