Strange problem with apps

Hey all

Theres a problem with certain apps that i run where the window of the app is a certain size but the content inside (buttons, text, watever) does not match the window's size and are either overlapping eachother or 'outside' the window and cant be seen anymore. This only happens on my laptop though and the apps are fine on other computers.

Anyone understand what im talking about and possibly have a solution?

Hey that sounds familiar, I get that too...
Someone told me once to fiddle with the windows sizes, like font sizes and window sizes etc etc, the place u find when u click on propertys after right clicking ur desktop.
Though it seems too bothersome so I never tried, so dunno if that will work

Check your font size and make sure its normal 96 dpi.
Often people switch to a resolution like 1280 x 1024 but cannot see the small text too well so they change the font size to the next one up 120 dpi and that screws everything up as most applications are designed for 96dpi.
Rightclick Desktop - Properties - Settings - Advanced - General.

Yip,

The font size was set to 120%, changed it back and it sorted out the problem.
Thing is.. my resolutions at 1680x1050 so everythigs pretty tiny and dropping the resolutions looks a bit crappy compared.

We'll see if losing my eyesight is worth the improvement!
