Strange Problem with Telephone Line

Hi there

Sorry I don't know where to put this in the forum. I have a strange problem with my Telkom phone line, firstly I thought it was the phone it's self so I changed it with a different one but the problem is still there. The problem is when I start dialing a number the tone on the phone keeps playing, it doesn't stop when it's supposed to when you start dialing a number. So when I finish dialing a number the phone doesn't call it. It's like I was just playing around with the phone. The only way to fix this problem temporarily is to disconnect the phone from the wall and connect it again.

What I want to know is should I report the fault to Telkom or just leave it and get used to it?
 
Do you have any thing else connected to the phone ??
disconnect every thing and test the phone
 
the ADSL line to my router yes, I've tried that and the problem still seems to persist.
sounds like a fault get them to test your line ( you took the filter off when you tested it ?? )
You will get a buzzing with out the filter on the line
