I have been trying to migrate my 4 meg ADSL line from telkom to Afrihost. I do admit that my usage is quiet high and for some reason Afrihost keep getting an error which refuse the migration to take place. Could it be because Afrihost does not want me as a customer that they keep on giving me the run around. After 3 weeks of trying the latest is that i have a telkom email adress so therefore my line cannot be migrated.
If i had to go into detail it wouls take at least a full page . The basic thing is Afrihost cannot migrate my line and suggestion were even made that they do not want me as a customer.

I hope Afriman or Afriguy sees this so they can comment and come up with some kind of answer

regards

more likely a Telkom related issue. Have you perhaps got a contract on your line?

I fail to see how migrating your ADSL line would have any relation to your ADSL usage.

Seems like it is a telkom issue. They should have been honest about the email story....

Further.... AH cannot have you as a line/isp client of TK does not release the line. You can still do the ISP part with AH.

Or you can change to a free email address, letting go of your email in order to release the line....

What reason do they give for the migration failure? Is it "DN is invalid"?

Hi Paul dunno whether they got it sorted out but Eugene from the Afrihost chat said it was because they had forgotten to cancel the previous migration request so it keep on giving them (another operator active) But still why should i spend the best part of about 2 hour a day for 3 weeks talking from pillar to post with no solution in sight until now

Thing is i wanted to move from Webafrica to Afrihost onto a Business Uncapped account and i was told the line first had to go back to telkom before i could migrate to Afrihost. Now from 2 August the line is back wit telkom and Afrihost keeps getting ' Another Opertor active" error. Seems it was because Somebody forgot to cancel the previous migration request.

We will see in the next few dayz whether the line gets migrated
