Since the 29th of July my 192 account which normally connected at approx 256kbps suddenly dropped in speed to about 140kbps
At first I thought it was just the usual end of month slowdown caused by people downloading as much as possible to fill their cap, etc.
16 days later it was still no better, until this morning where I was unable to connect. The ADSL synch was fine, but PPP was failing to authenticate.
The line is now back up and lo' and behold, I'm running back at my previous 256kb speed. Hopefully this extra speed stays once my upgrade to 384 is put in place....on the phone now to find out when this will happen (order went in on the 4th)
DOH!!! what was I expecting...the reply from the operator is "We're still waiting for validation of this, but very soon."
So much for 72 hour turnaround on upgrades
