Watched the first 4 episodes last night on this thread recommendation. Think I will go with your assessment. Not as bad as some other crap available, but it seems it will not be a memorable series.
 
OK. Finished it last night. Stayed awake through all 8 episodes, so it is pretty entertaining, albeit a bit slow. But that does make for a nice change. Couple of technical flaws but they did give a pretty good explanation of where the monster came from, unlike B horror movies that leave you with a big WTF. Will definitely watch the second season when available, if ever made.

Not sure if spoiler or not, but ...

We watched the first episode of Stranger Things last night with the kids. My 10 year old boy said it's Slender Man. I had to google Slender man. I don't even want to know how he knows.

The kids forced me to download the next episode while they were taking bathes and getting ready for bed. The next 6 episodes will be watched tonight :)

You dont want your kids to watch the next couple of episodes. I know mine would not have been allowed if they were still 10.
 
Yeah there's a couple of creepy episodes ahead... We all have a horror movie that scared us as kids. Lets this be his one :)

Yes I hope it scares the bejeepers out of him. He's TWD's biggest fan. He even compared that sheriff to Rick.
 
Watched the 1st 4 epi's today. Really really enjoy it...I can see why it's making waves; very well shot & told. Captivating as well...

Next 4 queued & ready for dl at 00:00

the soundtrack just polished everything off, I hope they release a vinyl

my guess its a homage to the typical ending of a 80s horror movie although I doubt the story will continue in the next season
