stream sound over wifi?

For ages now I have been looking for an app that can stream sound from my PC to my HTC Wildfire over wifi. Does anybody know of such an App?
 
Now I just need to find a app to pickup up the stream over wifi....
 
i use an app called VLC Stream and Convert Free that i downloaded from the market, along with vlc installed on my server. it's a bit of a mission to setup initially but the instructions are quite clear. i can now stream music and movies (mkv included) to my desire via wifi.

i can't get the movies to play full screen though, i'm not sure if i need to buy the premium version to get this to work.

You can use gmote to stream music and movies to your phone over wifi (or play it on your pc). The problem is getting an app to stream only the audio playing on your pc so that you can play the video on the pc (or tv) and use your android as a wireless headphone receiver. Or is that what you're doing?

this one? doe sit open just streams? I don't want to browse files

oh, i see what you mean. yes the app i mentioned can do that also, but when it did that (while i was playing around with the settings) i was like "wtf would anyone want to play just the sound from a movie?!" :D now i see why :o
 
Promising.

Had an option to play just the audio. However the video is still not playable in the pc.

Well try emailing the devs.
