Stream to TC over LAN?

Im thinking of buying a samsung lcd tv, what have lan and wifi...can anyone explain what does the LAN do? As i heard u can stream movies and so on over to ur tv...and if u can..how excatly do i set it up?

What model of TV? Seeing as it's Samsung it probably supports DLNA if it has a LAN port. In that case, all you would need to do is run a DLNA server on the PC with all your media stored on it. Windows Media Player has that function, but it's very basic. Something like Twonky or TVersity would probably work a lot better. Then you can play all your episodes/movies/music over the LAN. My Blu-Ray player works like that.
