Streaming from Computer to computer

I did something similar back in 2002 using shoutcast (icecast?) and winamp....

Basically you have a streaming server and then all the clients just connect to the service kinda like a streaming radio on 5..
but i suppose the problem then becomes the buffering on the lan.....

The problem is that I don't want it to go over the internet, I want to send it directly over lan.

at least its hardwired and not wireless
