I had a dilemma my wife enjoys playing games but only on the TV in the lounge, we have a xbox/ps5 but those games are like 1k+ a pop and owning them on multiple devices is a waste.

I started experimenting with streaming games from my PC in the other room to my Xbox (cant do it on ps5 as far as I know).

Found this video which was a great start. TLDR Download moonlight to your device/xbox then download sunshine to your your pc and start streaming. Big issue is you need a fake HDMI dongle so did a bit of digging and found you can use Apollo a fork of sunshine and bypass the issue.

You can use moonlight on any pc, Xbox, android TV boxes, apple TV boxes etc. So you can jam on your work pc while your gaming pc does all the work.

I have tried streaming to a mibox, it was ok, you just connect your controller via Bluetooth and start jamming but it is way better on the xbox.

Controls are seamless it just picks up the controller and you can start playing even though you have a keyboard connect to you actual PC. Moonlight links the controls. Getting 4k on the TV took some figuring out but you have to setup a virtual screen and set the resolution correctly. You can also play any games steam, xbox etc.

Best part is the lag is none existent feels like you are playing in real time. Also you can get the cheaper xbox gamepass pc and basically have premium gamepass.

If you have any other ways or different forks let me know.

Sadly they don't sell them anymore (Out of stock) but I stream PC. Xbox and PS5 to a GMKtec G5 in the bedroom using a 8BitDo Ultimate controller.

PS5 streaming = PS Remote play
Xbox Streaming = Xbox App
Gaming PC = Steam
On Nintendo we have 2 docs, one in lounge and on in the bedroom so you just dock the console to the TV you wanna play on.

No complaints.

Edit: Sidenote I am running via cable on 1Gb network. Wifi I had lag even on Ax router.

A lot of PC games are play anywhere on MS side? Well as long as you bought them through the MS store, some may be on Game pass as well.

The difference is you are running the game on your beast computer with all the best graphics and using the device with moonlight as a proxy.

You could use and old laptop and have the same graphics as a 5090 if you have that hardware.

Also gampass PC (PC games only) is R100 cheaper than Ultimate with very little difference and you get to play all the newest games. You can also play all your steam games or if you got a game on the high seas.

This is a really cool option if you want to give it a try.

Seems like a good option basically you can play anything from any console in the room you want.

Nice!!
