Hi

Could you please give a few ideas for me what to look for.

I have a main server at home that contains all my media.
I have two Micro Hp N50L servers running in different rooms for now.

I need to hook up two more tv's to the network.

Currently I was looking at the Ryan Playon or maybe the rasberry pi itself as an alternative.

My needs are simple in this situation.
I just need to stream media from the server via Wireless or network cable to the different tv's in the house.
So there is no need to have surround sound or anything it will just connect to the tv with an HDMI cable.

Regards

RaspberryPi running OpenELEC should work. Don't think you'll get a more cost effective option.

Android media sticks like the ones from Uniterm = my fav

Run PLEX and get ROKU players. This is the simplest and easiest solution in my opinion

This
Start with your Plex server, then it doesn't matter if you use a Roku, ATV, or android player as a client.

Does it have issues with HD movies, for example stuttering?
HD Movies play fine on the Raspberry...sadly though the interface is not 100% smooth, and when you start playback, it has this 5 seconds lag before playback start. Annoying enough for me, parents with their old slow computers are used to waiting so is good for them.

Run Plex Media Server on your main system.

Then run some Plex clients on either Roku's or PlexBMC on Rasberry Pi's or the like.

Ok I will give Plex a shot tonight I have always use XBMC.

So the Pi will e one of the better options.
Should I look at the type A or B from the Raspi?

B, the 512MB RAM version. I don't know if they ever got around to making any A's.
