I need some help, please. I have a 150Mbps fibre link and doing the normal speed tests returns good results. But I have one particular platform that I use for streaming sports that seems to struggle, with buffering and pixelating. I recently found that if I connect via a VPN the quality is perfect despite the fact that the VPN limits my speed to less than a quarter ~10Mbps.
I use the same link for streaming to other services such as Netflix, Amazon, and Youtube and normally do not experience any issues so the logical conclusion I make is that either a) the ISP throttles traffic to/from the destination or b) the server used by the streaming service for my region has an issue. I have been speaking to the support peeps at both the streaming services and my ISP and both just shrug their shoulders. What would be the best way to try and pinpoint where the issue is?
I have done the normal ping and tracert tests and did not find any real issue but when I use winmtr I find a consistent packet loss of 30-50% on one of the ISP servers. Obviously contacting them with this information only resulted in a 'switch of the ONT and router for 10 minutes and back on again'.
