Hey, so recently bought my ps3 and set it up no problems, connected to my network wirelessly, excellent signal blah blah blah

Set up TVersity for streaming and works like a charm, but whatever movie im watching cuts out after 20-30mins and then gives me an error.

Any ideas?

Few ideas (I also run a PS3 and TVersity)

1. Try it with a network cable. I found my wireless at home just couldn't cope with some of the video files I had - all depends on the bitrate (if alot is happening on the screen , the bitrate can jump through the roof and the wireless just pukes and dies).

2. Make sure the files aren't on a USB drive attached to the PC. I was streaming stuff off my external usb drive and it kept going into sleep mode .. woops.

3. Take same movie and put it directly onto Ps3 - to confirm it is a network erorr.

4. Check the TVersity log. It might indicate what happened - the transcoder etc might hit a invalid frame perhaps. (check 3 will prove that)

5. Perhaps set transcoding off for this file ? It is under the tversity settings - or under the library where you can say Transcode always or never etc.

Sorry for the bulleted response. I am sitting at the office on a public holiday - so brain is in problem solving mode.

Hope you come right.

Hey, thanks for the advice. I think my problem is due to the wireless setup but its not possible for me to run cable so i guess i'll just have to live with it.

Not so sure its the bitrate spiking though, seems to be a lot going on at random times and the bitrates are never really that high...

i found that it is much easier to setup a small web server on the PC with the files on and just download the movie before i watch it. all MS os`s come with web service avalible (from XP on i think.), just not installed. set directory to allow browsing and reading and script source access.
