streaming to TV

My smart TV is connect to my router via a LAN cable, and I have setup my PC as a plex server, and have a plex app my TV and that all works fine.

But how would I stream anything else I am watching on my PC to my TV, example I can watch supersport on PC and want to stream it to my TV.
Or I have PopcornTime on my PC, but want to watch the movies on my TV instead.

If I have the file/video saved on my PC, then it's simple, but streaming? I don't know if streaming is the right word, but how would I go about doing this?

Use the tv as pc screen via hdmi? Unless they are far apart, then maybe something like a chromecast for youtube or screen mirroring for other content that you can open on the mobile device instead of opening the sites on the pc

Try the TV 's Internet browser and look for the movie app in the app store.
