Addressing residents in the Newlands East suburb on Sunday, Zuma launched three street committees in the area and stressed the importance of not being soft on criminals.

"I warn you not to be lenient with criminals because they do not respect lives. These street committees must not be user-friendly to criminals, but that does not mean that you must kill. Just catch the criminals and hand them over to the police," Zuma said.

I don't get it

Not so long ago the idea of starting up commando's again in rural areas in attempt to control farm attacks was mooted by some chop in government. At the time, whoever it was, couldn't have stressed more vociferously, how the farming community should leave their protection up to police

Now all of a sudden JayZee is encouraging street commitees which to me are no different to the commando idea, except that they operate in urban areas.

It's beyond me that there are so many in our country who fail to see through this parties' BS

FFS, this kind of k@k just makes me want to take my hat and coat, and bugger-off elsewhere
