The Hippocratic oath means nothing to most health workers I see.

That's also BS. The Hippocratic Oath does not demand that you risk your life
as a doctor to treat someone else. For example, a doctor finds someone
dying by the road-side, but has no gloves, eye-protection or bag/mask,
he is NOT obliged to help that person. Private hospitals will not treat,
beyond basic stabilisation people who can't pay for their life-saving treatments either.

BTW Nurses don't take Hypocratic oaths and in reality the Oaths are
mumbled on graduation day anyway. It's only sensationalistic Hollywood films which portray them as something. In a managed health care system, the
people who make treatment decisions are the insurance companies anyway.
