I have microtik router I want to use as a AP for wifi in my house.

My main router is the DHCP server and its connected via lan cable to the microtik to port 1(internet)

Under settings quikset if I disable the DHCP server option on the AP like this:

Then it does not give my wifi any addresses. I want my main router to handle the IP addresses for the wifi clients as well

mod can merge to main microtik thread sorry

May the force be with you

Give the Tik a static address from the main router then set it to static in routeros. Also disable NAT. You also need to set the dhcp server as your main router when you setup the networks

This.
Dont use the Quickset wizard.

First of all, Create a bridge, add the AP plus the wired connection (eth1) to the bridge, under Bridge > Ports tab and assign a static IP address to the bridge under IP > Addresses.
No need to use NAT.

NAT is only when you meed to translate between two sets of IP addresses, such as WAN and LAN.

DHCP is also not required, so make sure that there's no DHCP servers added/enabled.

Long story shot I did not even do this.

All I did was move my cable from internet/ether1 to port 2 to on the microtik, gave it static local address now its working fine. Also disable DHCP
