Hi all
So apparently 15" notebooks are too big for the students to use in lecture halls. Excluding Macbooks, what recommendations are there from students/parents of students that had to look at getting a notebook for their studies.
Thanks

Is this a video/photography editing related study..? Computer science..? Or just pdf, excel word and browsing..?

Budget..???

BSc Actuarial, so some potential mathematical modelling.
No budget yet, it will depends on what is available out there

Personally, I would not get anything smaller than 15. MAYBE 14". Most manufacturers will probably stope creating anything smaller than 15" anyways.
15" doesn't fit on the desks, he already has one, will need to look for something smaller, like 14"

M1 Macbook Air.

Don't knock it just because you haven't tried it, it's arguably the best device for this purpose and also one of the best value.

The high resolution screen will also blow other larger screens out of the water for the same money.

Partserve aside.

I like the Lenovo Ideapads, such as the Flex 5.

Hoever you won't get anything that is as good value as the M1 Mac book, specially when it comes to battery. I just find their storage ridiculous.

Apple is good, just expensive. I don't use them because of Apple tax.

You won't find one with more than 256GB storage at a reasonable price. Apple tax kicks in.

I do agree storage upgrades are silly, but at the same time I’ve never needed more than 256GB so it’s not an issue for most people.

Bwana and some other local storage first use cases aside.

It’s 2024 the cloud exists and so does internet everywhere.

Don't get a Lenovo Yoga, they are ass.

2nd hand Dell latitude/vostro or lenovo thinkpad is good. SSD is a must.
