Does anyone know anything about this?

The department brought out a new rule at the end of 2013 that if a learner failed a grade before, such a learner should be phase condoned based on their age.

So regardless if you either failed or passed Grade 11, you still proceed to Grade 12. They write "PHASED CONDONED DUE TO AGE" or something like that. Or you just automatically progress the system towards without so much as even lifting a finger?

Lets put it this way, you cant fail grade 10 and 11 a second time, you will be progressed despite failing a second time in grade 10 and 11..

My mom's a teacher. She said they are only allowed to fail a certain percentage of students in a year.

First they push those that had already failed previously through and then from there she has to go through her student list and allocated 1 mark to each student iteratively until the required amount of children have passed.

She refers to it as being Santa Clause (just without the being jolly part or smiling)

If this is the case then we should soon have a pass rate of close to 100%....

Viva ANC... things are only getting better....will tell my son not to worry, if he does not make it this year then next year will be a given...
