Stupid Blackberry *grumble grumble*

Okay so I bought a new (second hand) blackberry, im not into what it is really as long as it works so Im not reeeally sure what model it is, but I think it`s a storm 9530. I did a search and that`s what google tells me.

I like it okay, the full touch screen freaked me out a bit at first but I`m winning it. Except for the bloody auto text. Does anyone know how to turn it of completely ?????? I`ve turned off all correcting and what not, but the auto text only has two options and none of those are off:wtf:

It would have been fine had I been typing most of my talks were in english as that is what it`s trying to auto correct to, but I`m not. I`m very afrikaans and my messages look like garbage if I don`t type slow and correct every second word that it has bloody auto corrected. It`s driving me insane.

Plus fighting with my husband text style is no more fun, as my garbled messages gets made fun off in the middle of a fight !

Hi

I have OS7 but the settings should be around the same place,
Options - Typing and Languages - Typing - select the style as Direct.

This should sort out your problem

Mine is options, and input style. The only two styles i have there are "Word completions" and "Auto correction"

It also has input options which I unticked all the options

Compound word
context learning
auto word learning
use contacts as data source
Learn words from email - OFF
Predictive
Include spell check variants

It also has a menu for sms text with an option to turn off auto text. done

Still if freaking changes my spelling.

When typing an e-mail or SMS in landscape mode, click on the icon just left of the spacebar - it looks like earth/globe - and change language to Afrikaans.
