Hi
Why would anyone in their right mind pay R3000 for 4meg Uncapped to digichilli, when they can pay Axxess R495 for the same thing ? Please explain, thanks

I don't know if Digichilli re-sell the vodacom business package but I think they do.

It's far from the same thing. The business packages have lower contention ratios, less or no shaping and are basically guarenteed bandwidth.

The consumer packages that have just been released have high contention ratios, are shaped to hell, and you'll be lucky to get max line speed during peak hours.

Hi , I am not just talking about Digichilli, but looking at the price list on MYbroadband, its crazy to pay those prices.

The issue is more what will Vodacom sell it at...
As far as I am aware, we sell them at the best price of R2449 for 4MB uncapped and that's at a decent margin as vodacom will not lower their price.

They believe the product will stand on its own, same as thier Static IP accounts, and that they do not feel the need to compete in teh uncapped martket.

Funnily enough Vodacom also have an AUP although I'm not sure on what levels they introduce their shaping changes. They use a tiered service where high users gradually get put in to a constrained pot where they fight for the bandwidth with each other, whilst the low users get full speeds.

Apart from the amazing add-on services Vodacom supply, Im not sure I can see too much difference between the Vodacom products and the new ones as the shaping on high downloads was/is also quite high.

Well the axxess account you mention is shaped - heavily - if you want to download stuff / game it's not a very good account to have.

Yeah - we resell the same IS Uncapped Basic accounts as Axxess and all the others.
There has been a massive fault with somthing for the last 24 hours and it seems to have affected the 384ks more than the 4M's... either way it's been terrible and everyone is pulling their hair out with them to try and get them to fix it.

We are hoping that they'll have it resolved by tomorrow, once they find out what they did!
